See how stem cell agency spends your money

Interested in how the California stem cell agency (opens in new tab) has so far parceled out $554 million in research grants?

The California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) has recently posted a useful chart on its website (opens in new tab). The grid lists grants by institution and shows the name of the researcher, type of grant and title of the project.

With one click on the title, the description of the project is available. It’s a  user-friendly and handy summary of how CIRM has dispersed taxpayer funds to date. Plans call for $3 billion in research money to be distributed. Because it’s financed with bonds, the final taxpayer cost will be about $6 billion.

Check it out. (opens in new tab)
