Advocates Will Ask For Special Session Of Legislature
In the midst of a state-wide energy crisis, and after hearing from consumer advocates and elected officials representing beleaguered San Diego ratepayers, the Public Utility Commission today rejected the call for a rate rollback and repeal of utility deregulation.
Consumer advocates aid they would seek an emergency special session of the legislature to deal with the issue.
“The PUC bureaucrats have refused to protect the public health and safety of ratepayers against the rapacious price gouging of the utility and power monopolies,” said Harvey Rosenfield, FTCR President. “The ratepayer rebellion is heading straight for Sacramento.”
