KCAL TV-9 Los Angeles: Gas Prices Continue Dive As Crude Oil Falls Below $50 Per Barrel

<p><strong>MID-CITY (CBSLA.com)</strong> — Drivers are rejoicing after the price of crude oil dropped again Monday, signaling another fall for gas prices.</p> <p>Crude oil slipped to below $50 per barrel for the first time in five years, and experts predict prices at the pump could remain in the range of $2 per gallon into the spring.</p> <p>The dwindling numbers are tied to a global glut and a sharp decline in crude oil, now priced at nearly half of what it was a year ago.</p>

<p>Jerry Flanagan, lead attorney for the Consumer Watchdog group in California, says hundreds of thousands of people lost their doctors when insurers sold narrow networks without notice.</p> <p>"Consumers here were told that networks are going to be the same as they were before Obamacare ... and those are flat out lies," Flanagan said.</p> <p>Kevin McCarthy of Thousand Oaks, California, was surprised last spring, when he learned his family doctor of 14 years could not accept the Blue Shield insurance he'd purchased under Obamacare.</p>
