Consumer Watchdog is looking for a social media / online manager and consumer advocate. (That is, we're looking for one person who wants to take on both the social media and advocacy aspects of our battles.)
A qualified applicant will have a combination of three skills – technology, writing and organizing. We are looking for a candidate who is familiar with website back end content management systems, blogs and implementing website changes. Basic HTML skills a plus. Candidate should have strong writing skills – both short, smaller pieces more typical of social media communication and the ability to work on longer pieces / reports. Candidate should also understand campaign / advocacy organizing principles and have a campaign's worth of experience – either legislative or electoral – on this front. In addition to implementing the organization’s social media strategy, this position will have certain advocacy and organizing responsibilities directly related to our public policy agenda.
