<p>Shopping online is usually convenient, easy, and a way to save money. But Consumer Watchdog of Santa Monica says if you're shopping online through Google, it might actually be costing you money. Consumer Watchdog did a test comparing prices of several popular items, such as digital cameras, toasters, iPads and electric drills using Google Shopping. They found the difference in price could be as much as 67 percent.<br /> <br />

President Obama announced Thursday the decision to grant a one-year reprieve on those health-care policies that would have otherwise been canceled under Obamacare. Reports estimate 4 to 5 million cancellation notices have been issued nationwide to date — over a million expected in California alone. Policyholders could now have the option to keep their current plan while shopping for new plans under the healthcare.gov website.</p>

<p>Back in 1984, the California Legislature passed a law requiring drivers to have auto insurance… but didn't limit how much insurers could charge. Predictably, insurers hiked prices by double digits. Voters revolted against the price gouging by passing Prop 103, and the result was billions in savings. Prop 103 has saved California drivers over $100 billion dollars since 1988. That's about $8,125 per California household. In fact, California is the only state in the country where auto insurance rates actually went down over the last 25 years.</p>

<p>Many people are getting hit with cancellation notices because their existing health care policies don't quality under the new health care law. Large employer plans that cover most workers and their families are unlikely to be affected. One of the president's earliest promises about the health care overhaul was - You can keep your plan if you like it. That's not exactly the case for Natasha Lee. Lee is a freelance photographer who just received a letter saying her current policy is being canceled. A new similar policy she says will cost her three times more.</p>

<p>A Danville couple whose two children were struck and killed by a drunk driver a decade ago will honor their memory in Danville this weekend. The memorial for Troy Pack and his younger sister Alana was held from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Sycamore Valley Elementary School.<br /> <br /> The event comes 10 years after the Oct. 26, 2003 deaths of Troy, 10, and Alana, 7. That evening, the siblings were riding their scooter and bicycle along with their mother and two friends in Danville when a gold Mercedes Benz sedan drove onto the sidewalk, running over and killing them.</p>
