The sky’s the limit for protesters who yesterday tried to change a bank giant’s mind about consumer privacy laws – by skywriting Citibank CEO Charles Prince’s Social Security number above his Midtown office.
The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights said its high-flying protest underscored how easy it is to obtain private information and said better laws are needed to protect consumers.
FTCR says it’s outraged that Citigroup is backing new federal legislation that will override state privacy laws that prevent banks from using consumers’ personal information without their consent.
