Funds Rise, Sun Sets

Published on

A governor who claims to want
greater sunshine in government should at least let the public know the
truth about his fundraisers. Arnold’s public schedule for Tuesday,
December 2nd fails to mention his fundraiser at 5:30 PM in La Jolla at
La Valencia Hotel (1132 Prospect St)– where those with special
interests and $21,200 will be treated to a private dinner with the
governor.

Of course, for $3.25, any member of the public can buy a half-pint of
beer at the hotel’s Whaler’s Bar. Trail mix is complimentary and you
can have your views heard too… join with other ArnoldWatchers in a
rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" to encourage Arnold to live by the
sunshine rules he promised. Or you can call Karolyn Dorsee, the
organizer of the main event, at 858-756-2027 to see if you can get on
the dinner list for free. Let her know you do not work for a tribe or a
labor union, so you’re definitely not a special interest, but with the
budget cuts, you just can’t afford the freight. Either way the fun
rises at 5:30 PM.
