Consumer Watchdog produced a podcast featuring accounts of people whose homes burned in this year’s Los Angeles fires to show “how large insurance companies deny consumers the benefits they are owed in the wake of disasters.” The advocacy group’s attempt to shape public opinion comes as Los Angeles homeowners face surcharges to help insurers pay for the fires.
