Turns out, consumer privacy advocates and casinos aren’t the only ones concerned with the invasive nature of Google Glass. Google itself is barring the wearable computers that can take pictures and record viedo at the blink of an eye from today’s shareholders’ meeting in Mountain View.

Google’s restrictions on what cannot be brought into the meeting include: ”Cameras, recording devices, and other electronic devices, such as smart phones. . . Photography is prohibited at the meeting.

That has some crying hypocrisy. “Google has unleashed one of the most privacy invasive devices ever,” John M. Simpson, director of the Consumer Watchdog’s Privacy Project, said in a statement. “Google Glass aids and abets people who want to invade our privacy by videoing or photographing us surreptitiously, but when it comes to their own privacy Google executives jealously guard it.”

Touché.
