A $100,000 contribution from Mercury Insurance was just reported to one of the political committees supporting Prop 93 — the effort to extend current lawmakers terms.  Watch for legislation this year to allow Mercury to get out of a Court ruling they lost that proibits a scheme the company uses to hide certain charges so it looks like their rates are lower than the competition.  See 1/8/08 post: Will Mercury Insurance and Insurance Broker lobbyists try to change the rules in order to charge customers more?
