Looking Back and Looking Forward

Published on

At the beginning of this year the advocates, organizers and lawyers at Consumer Watchdog promised to take on insurance and healthcare companies, fight for online privacy and build a community of activists who could spread the word about our work for consumer protection and social change.

Here’s a quick look at some of Consumer Watchdog’s 2011 successes by the numbers:

·       $295 million in savings on auto, homeowners and renters insurance policies;

·       Two major health insurers canceled or substantially reduced planned rate hikes;

·       One anti-consumer mega-merger blocked — AT&T's deal with T-Mobile;

·       40,000 fans on Consumer Watchdog’s Facebook page connecting with 13 million friends.

But with all the numbers in the world, right now we’re looking for a few specific numbers:

$25        $50      $100

There are only a few hours left before we wrap up 2011. Please make a tax-deductible contribution of $25, $50, $100 or whatever you can afford before you close down for the year.

Consumer Watchdog got a lot done in 2011. With your support, we can promise to do even more in 2012.

Thank you for all your support and Happy New Year.
